How to Start Publishing on Cantabook

A complete beginner guide to Cantabook: create an account, set up your blog, write your first story, publish, grow readers, and use analytics.

What is Cantabook?

Cantabook is a quiet personal blogging and storytelling platform. It is for journals, memoirs, essays, and personal blogs — not social-media noise or algorithmic feeds.

Start publishing on Cantabook

1. Create an account (email login)

2.Click Login (or Start Writing / Get Started)
3.Enter your email
4.Check your inbox for a 6-digit confirmation code
5.Enter the code to sign in

Notes:

New emails are registered automatically (no separate signup form)
No password; login is code-based
By continuing you accept the Terms and Privacy Policy
You must be at least 13 (or the digital-consent age in your country)

2. Choose your blog username (one-time)

After first login, set up your publisher:

1.Pick a username (this becomes your blog address)
2.Your public site will be:

https://username.cantabook.com

Rules:

Length: 3–30 characters
Characters: letters and numbers only
Change later? No — username cannot be changed

Example: username jkrowlinghttps://jkrowling.cantabook.com

After setup you are taken to blog settings to finish your profile.

3. Customize your blog

Open Account settings (/account/settings):

Display name — name shown on your blog
Bio — short about line
Avatar — profile photo (PNG, JPG, or GIF)
Theme color — default, blue, green, orange, purple, pink, red, yellow
Light / dark mode — blog appearance
Font — Modern Sans, Geometric Sans, or Literary Serif
Site status — activate or deactivate the public site

Save when done. Your live site is rebuilt shortly after changes.

Tip: open your blog with View site on the dashboard to confirm branding.

4. Write your first story

1.From the dashboard, click New / Create, or go to cantabook.com/editor/new
2.Fill in:
Title (required to publish)
Description (short summary for previews and search)
Cover image (optional; PNG, JPG, GIF)
Body in the editor

Editor tips

Type / for commands and insert options
Use the toolbar for formatting
Embed media such as images and YouTube / social embeds
Work is auto-saved locally in the browser after a few seconds of idle typing
Unsaved work may prompt you if you try to leave the page

5. Review, then publish or save draft

Before going live:

1.Open Review & Publish when available
2.Check how the post looks as a full article, and how it may appear on Facebook, X (Twitter), and Google Search
3.Choose:
Publish — live on https://username.cantabook.com/article/{id}
Save as draft — stored for you; not public

Notes:

A title is required
Published posts can notify email subscribers (with a short delay)
After first publish you stay in the editor so you can keep editing

6. Manage posts from the dashboard

Account / dashboard (/account):

List published and draft articles
Resume local browser drafts
Open an article to edit
Delete posts you no longer want
Jump to your public blog
Create another publisher if you want a second blog under the same email
Open Analytics for traffic insights
Log out

7. Grow readers

On your public blog (https://username.cantabook.com):

Readers can Subscribe with email
They confirm via a verification link
New published posts can trigger notification emails
Subscribers can manage or unsubscribe via links in those emails

Share your blog URL and individual article links on social media; the review dialog helps you see how previews may look.

8. Analytics

From the app open Analytics (/analytics) to see basic stats such as:

Activity over time
Article performance
Reader locations (where available)

Useful for seeing which stories resonate.

Yes. One account (email) can own multiple publishers/sites.

Can I unpublish?

Yes. You can switch a post back to draft, or deactivate the whole site from settings.

Do I keep my writing?

Yes. You own your content. Cantabook only gets a license needed to host and display the service.
